Nigerians on social media last night reacted to the comments of General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on the ongoing controversy surrounding Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), who was last week accused of rape by Busola, wife of Nigeria’s soul singer Timi Dakolo.
Many Nigerians had since the shocking revelation asked the church leaders in Nigeria to make a statement denouncing the Pastor’s act, which many claim has continued till date and involves other unnamed women apart from Busola Dakolo.
Finally, while ministering at the monthly Holy Ghost Night, on Friday at the Redemption Camp, along Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Pastor Adeboye, without directly naming anyone, wadded into the issue, spoke to young pastors about their conduct in ministry.
Adeboye, quoting from various passages of the Scriptures, said: “I feel compelled to say some things to those that are young and up and coming ministers.
“What I want to say is from the Bible: There is nothing hid that shall not come to the open or made manifest. Mark 4:22
“2. Sooner or later, your sins will find you out if you continue in sin under the guise of grace. Numbers 32:23
“3. Abstain from every appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22.
“2 Timothy 2:22. When you find yourself facing youthful lust, flee; don’t say you’re highly anointed or something, ask Samson. You may say I’m old fashioned, I agree. I’ll never have a private secretary who’s a woman. When a woman accuses you of something, nobody will listen to you whether you’re right or wrong; be wise!
Adeboye’s statement has since stirred reactions from a cross-section of Nigerians on social media.

Pastor Adeboye is not accurate here & there’s NO bible verse that corroborates this. Rather than say this, a Pastor should admonish women to not lay false claim against men, as well as admonish men to not abuse women. It is “wise” to keep both men & women in check. @rccghqpic.twitter.com/L2XAmeHX7D

When Pastor Adeboye said
“When a woman accuses you of something, nobody will listen to you” & “When you see a woman smiling at you koikoi, you better run”,
I felt it in my chest…

I saw Pastor Adeboye trending & saw comments saying some people were “dragging” him. I scrolled all the way through the trend but didn’t see the comments dragging him. I wonder if I had blocked the sort of people that would drag him and that’s why I couldn’t see their tweets.

Pastor Adeboye. When we blame a woman for a man’s lack of self control. Adeboye says he has never had a private secretary who is a woman. The new testament encourages self control. Should we then have a country of only men in order for us not to fall into a woman’s temptation?

What Pastor Adeboye said is common sense tho, if You have soft spots for Women then don’t bring them close. Works for Pastor’s, Christians & even Married Men. You are not too strong or too wise to Fall.

You all have been criticizing pastors for not coming out to talk about the COZA , DAKOLO and Biodun Fatoyinbo RAPE saga,

I really need to travel out

Pastor Adeboye never said everybody must never employ a female private secretary. He only said he will not.
His choice. His decision. His reasons.
His life. His prerogative.
Cry all you want.
But he doesn’t owe you a job. And he certainly owes you no explanations whatsoever.

But Jesus said ,he will no longer eat that bread and drink that wine till he will drink it new with his disciples in the kingdom of God. It means that pastor Adeboye has not been born of the spirit of God, that would have enabled him to understand what the spirit of God is saying

I don’t see a problem with Pastor Adeboye saying he doesn’t want a female as a Private Secretary.
He respects his fears & limitations. If being very close to a woman outside of his wife will make him enter wahala, running away from it is a better sacrifice than being the sacrifice

Since the past two weeks, 9 of my female friends av shared details about how they were raped or almost raped
4 of the 9 are/were secretaries & PA(s) to male bosses that slept/attempted to sleep with them.

Pastor Adeboye now made me believe that Wisdom indeed reside with the elders. In his words:
* When you see a woman smiling at you in a koi koi way you better run
* When a woman accuses you of something, nobody will listen to you.
* Flee from every appearance of evil. pic.twitter.com/7euiwVyjWY

I don’t think Pastor Adeboye has ever hidden the fact that he was quite promiscuous before he became born again. So if he is saying he will never employ a female secretary, then, that is a man who has recognized his weaknesses and is not ready to take chances with it.
